Thank you for your explanation on the talk page. I still don't understand though; you mean merely because it is a geographical feature that it should be located under the "Geography" category? Certainly. The discussion that took place on my talk page was relevant to the discussion that was initiated on the article's discussion page. Following the train of events it was only logical to me that the rationale that was worked out should be made obvious to anyone else who looks at the article, instead of seeing what would have been a seemingly unresolved issue. - The other one is The Life and Times of Moondyne Joe, Swan River COlony Convict Joseph Bolitho Johns by W. J. Edgar. I've got them both. Elliot's is the better written, but Edgar's is twelve years later with a lot of new information on Joe's early life and conviction details.
- SlimVirgin appears to have left Wikipedia. It's a very long story that's impossible to cut short. Mistress Selina Kyle and Blu Aardvark are both banned users who are now staff members of Wikipedia Review, a website established by Daniel Brandt to attack Wikipedia and its editors. A number of admins have been seriously attacked and harassed by these guys. Widely respected admin Katefan0 was driven out of the project by them. SV has suffered just about the worst attacks, but has stuck around until now. I won't repeat the garbage that SV has had to put up with here; take it from me she been most terribly abused and harassed. A couple of days ago Linuxbeak unblocked both users with no discussion (or perhaps a small amount on the IRC channels) with a view to rehabilitating them. This created a storm of controversy on WP:ANI, with some users supporting Linuxbeak but most users opposing the unblock. Yesterday, in the midst of a heated discussion, FloNight wrote "I’m not a fool. I’m not going to volunteer for an organization that welcomes people that are harassing me for protecting the organization.", to which SV responded "Me neither. I've had enough". I was just trying to park it somewhere, as it's rather undeveloped, and I did't think it deserved its own page. And most of the history does relate WAGR (but it should have private railways in it. Some states have an eg Rail transport in South Australia page but there isn't one for WA. Anyway I have moved it to History of rail transport in Western Australia. There's gotta be more than just a building at the showgrounds and a painting and "re-enactment" as a legacy, cant wait till i get my hands on some other things as reminders. - Absolutely. Details of the 1929 and 2004 celebrations don't really belong in the WAY 1979 article. It would be great to write separate articles especially for 1929 but I guess for 2004 too. I like your idea of comparing the different ways of celebrating over the years, but I suspect you won't have much luck finding a reference for it. Snottygobble 08:31, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Some starting points. A quick google reveals:
- Western Australia's oldest existing aircraft, the Silver Centenary was build in 1929 to celebrate the State's 100 year anniversity
- Fremantle was declared a city on June 3, 1929 as part of that city's state centennial celebrations - photo of the event here: here (except that LISWA is down at the moment so can't be viewed).
- The white arch at the gateway to Soldier's Park in Collie has "State Centenary" on it because it was built in 1929 as part of the celebrations.
- "Reminders of Western Australia as a British colony were everywhere in the lead up to the centenary of settlement in 1929. Street parades, balls, Punch and Judy shows, cricket matches and church services were all part of the celebrations." from here.
- this page reproduces an image from the "Centenary of Perth souvenir booklet, 1929"
- a reference to the book "Wilson, J. G. (ed.) (1929). Western Australia's centenary 1829-1929. Perth: Historic Press."
- a reference to the "W.A. centennial march", a vocal march composed in 1929 by Laszlo Schwartz.
I also noticed an assertion that Edith Cowan had been involved in preparations for the the centennial celebrations, so I pulled out "A Unique Position" and found that chapter 18 is entitled "Centenary". Peter Cowan does have an (endearing) habit of digressing somewhat from his main subject, so I wouldn't be too surprised if this chapter provides a good overview of the centenary.

- How embarrassing! It had been there since 16 May (diff). Unfortunately one minutes after it was vandalised by Jarrah123, it was further vandalised by 195.195.161.3 (diff). Someone then accidentally reverted the latter vandalism back to the former vandalism, and the former vandalism has been there ever since. How sad. Snottygobble 12:12, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
