Saturnus is a six-piece metal band from Denmark formed in 1991. Saturnus's music is classified as death/doom metal, with touches of gothic metal. Their lyrics are themed towards sorrow, loss, and death.

In the beginning of May, the 3rd and long awaited full length album from Danish doom-metal, Saturnus, will hit the stores. The new album, entitled “Veronika Decides to Die”, is a cold experience in a warm atmosphere. A very melancholic, melodic album. Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica, Morbid Angel etc.) has produced and mixed the album in Sweet Silence Studio, and has made it clear that Saturnus made NO compromises in finalizing the product. Besides that, Saturnus had a visit by lead guitarist Michael Denner (Force Of Evil, ex. Mercyful Fate/King Diamond) in the studio, where he made the second and very mournful solo on the song “Descending”. The front cover artwork is made by well-known designer Travis Smith (Anathema, Katatonia, etc).

Veronika Decides To Die has been underway for 6 years, and the road leading up to the release, has been complicated. The line-up has changed a couple of times before they ended up being the complete and framed band again. Saturnus has proved to be, yet again, the Gods of doom with no comparison. The albums title, Veronika Decides To Die, are inspired by Paulo Coelho’ novel of same name. The album is very heartsick and sad, and by reading the book, you might experience the full universe of a trouble filled mind and the uncontrolled unhappiness that might lead to make wrong decisions… Saturnus has made 2 albums and a MCD Paradise Belongs To You, For The Loveless Lonely Nights and Martyre before this one.
