Satsuma, Kagoshima

Satsuma (さつま町 Satsuma-chō?) is a town located in Satsuma District, Kagoshima, Japan.

The town was formed March 22, 2005 from the merger of the towns of Miyanojo, Tsuruda, and a former town with the English name of Satsuma (薩摩町).

As of 2000 population data, the town has an estimated population of 27,331 and a density of 90 persons per km². The total area is 303.43 km².
