Satin Sheets

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Satin Sheets was a 1973 hit song written for country music singer Jeanne Pruett in 1973.

In 1973, Jeanne Pruett was looking for her big break into the country music mainstream. In 1973, she recorded the country song "Satin Sheets" and it immediately went to #1 on the country charts. The song even made it to the Billboard Top 40, peaking at #28.

The song became revolutionary for country music for its open discussion of sex. On her album that year also called Satin Sheets showed Jeanne Pruett in bed wearing satin clothes.

"Satin Sheets" became Jeanne Pruett's biggest hit ever and became her signature tune. In fact, more people remember the song "Satin Sheets" than they know who Jeanne Pruett is. The song wasn't Pruett's only hit; in November 1973, she reached the Top 10 with the follow-up single, "I'm Your Woman," while in 1980 she had major hits with "Back to Back" and "Temporarily Yours."
