Sartorius-deles
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sartorius-deles is one of four inhabited planets in the Erhal system.[1] It is the setting for many of the books by Sherwood Smith.
Humans arrived on Sartorius-deles approximately 4000 years before the events of the books such as Wren to the Rescue.[1] These humans do indeed appear to have been Terrans prior to their immigration to the Erhal system. For example, they brought with them species such as the tomato[2], and concepts such as the seven-day week.[3]
Not all satellites of Erhal were inhabited by senescent life-forms prior to the arrival of humans, however it is unclear whether any such worlds were colonized by humans.
[edit] Geography
There are at least five regions on four continents which have been described or depicted in Sherwood Smith's works.
- The eastern coast of the western continent is the setting for all of the Wren books so far.[4]
- Samar Djur, about which very little information is available, is apparently located to the west of the Great Desert, on the same western continent.
- The Magic Council, which attempts to be a sort of moderator organization for magic schools across Sartorius-deles, is mentioned as being located on an eastern continent.[5]
- The "Souther Hemisphere" of Sartorius-deles is the setting for the Inda trilogy.[6]
