Sarouk Rug

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Sarouk Rug is a type of Persian rug from the province of Arak. The Sarouk Rug is produced in towns and villages across the province of Arak. Sarouk is the name of a village but it also has become the name of a grade of rug from that area. Trade names for the rugs of the Sarouk region include: Feraghan, Feraghan Sarouk, Mahal, Mohajaran Sarouk, Mushkabad (now called Mahal) and Viss. However Sarouk rugs generally refer to the best grade of Arak rugs rather than the product of just one village.
