Saroma (佐呂間町; -chou) is a town located about 620 miles northeast of Tokyo,[1] in the Tokoro District, Abashiri, Hokkaidō, Japan.

As of 2004, the town has an estimated population of 6,287 and a density of 15.52 persons per km². The total area is 404.99 km².

On November 7, 2006, a tornado struck the town, killing at least nine people and injuring twelve more. [2] See 2006 Saroma tornado for more information.
