Sarnitsa

Sarnitsa (Bulgarian: Сърница) is a small town in the Pazardzhik Province, southern Bulgaria. As of 2006 it has 3 607 inhabitants. It gained its town status in 2005 and is part of the Velingrad municipality, located deep in the Rhodope mountains among remote virgin forests. The town has preserved its authentic atmosphere and old architecture and is a starting point for many intrigue and adventureous tracks in this remote part of the mountains.
