Sardhana

Sardhana is a town near Meerut (Uttar Pradesh, India. Located 85km (57 miles) Northeast of New Delhi.

SARDHANA owes its prominence to the Begam Samru.and Sardhana's Nawab Family She is also known as Zeb-un-Nissa, and was christened Johanna Nobilis Somer when she was received into the Church. Somer was the adopted name of her husband, Walter Reinhard which was progressively varied to Sombre. She was a highly talented lady of great generosity who died in 1836 aged over 90.

Before being created a Basilica,the church which she built became a Cathedral for a short time, with its own Bishop. The Bishop's Palace has become a Girls School. Her original palace has now become a seminary for training priests. The New Palace has become the boys school.

It was under jageer and was ruled by Nawab Syed Amjad Ali Shah grandson of Late Nawab Jan Fishan Khan Chief of tribe Paghman came to India in 1842 after Begum Samru died.Famous Sufis Idries Shah and Omar Ali-Shah are the grandson's of Last Nawab of Sardhana Syed Amjad Ali Shah and they trace their ancestry back to this line.

Ikbal Ali Shah (born 1894 in Sardhana, India, died 1969 in Tangier, Morocco) was an Afghan author, poet, diplomat, scholar, and savant, and the father of the sufi writers and translators Idries Shah, Omar Ali-Shah and Amina Shah.


Now at the moment Agha Ainuddin Shah son of Late Nawab Agha Khalid Shah and Adil Barlas are two hiers left in india who are directly related to the Nawab Family
