Sarcosaurus (meaning "flesh lizard") was a primitive theropod dinosaur, specifically a coelophysoid. It lived during the Early Jurassic, about 200 million years ago. Fossils of Sarcosaurus, including one partial skeleton, were found in England. The type species, S. woodi, was first described by Andrews in 1921.
