[edit] Career

At fourteen years old, she released her debut album Popstar: A Dream Come True. The debut album was awarded a sextuple (6x) platinum award, selling more than 180,000 copies. Aside from singing, she has also acted in supporting roles for movies like "Filipinas," "Captain Barbell," and "Annie B." as well as starring in her own television soap opera. After winning at the "Star for a Night", Sarah became a regular performer in SOP Rules and guested on several GMA 7 shows. But her big break came when she opted to move to ABS-CBN, GMA's rival station. Sarah was given her own show, which was entitled "Sarah, The Teen Princess" in allusion to her career as a child actress in "Sarah, Ang Munting Prinsesa" (The Little Princess) in which she played the role of Sarah's (Camille Prats) playmates. She has also obtained advertising endorsement contracts with Jollibee, Charmee, and Talk 'n' Text for Smart Communications.

Sarah released her sophomore album in November 2004 entitled "Sweet Sixteen," which achieved gold status in only one week. The album has since reached double-platinum status, selling more than 60,000 copies.

In the field of acting, Sarah has starred opposite Mark Bautista, her former runner-up, in the fantasy film "Lastikman." Although the movie did not fare well at the box office, it succeeded in increasing Sarah's image as more than a just a voice talent.

In 2005, Sarah sang the theme of reality show winners Hero Angeles and Sandara Park's launching movie "Can This Be Love," which was released as a maxi-single and achieved gold record status in one month's time. She also became a mainstay in the fourth season of "SCQ Reload, Kilig Ako." Sarah is a talent of VIVA Entertainment Group and is part of ABS-CBN.

Summer of 2005 saw Sarah reunited with her fellow champions for a United States Tour of "Pinoy Idols: Return Of The Champions," which toured selected cities in the U.S. for a two-month period. In addition, she went on to perform in her first major solo concert, "The Other Side" in the Araneta Colliseum back at home.

The year of 2006 was another great one for Sarah: She was lead star in ABS-CBN's top primetime soap opera, "Bituing Walang Ningning," a remake of the 1985 hit movie classic; in it, she stars as Dorina, the role originally played by Sharon Cuneta that year. Her third studio album entitled "Becoming" was also released and reached Platinum status in a very short time. On November 18, 2006, she sang the Philippine National Anthem ("Lupang Hinirang") at the third encounter between super featherweight boxers Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao of the Philippines and Erik "El Terrible" Morales of Mexico at the UNLV Thomas and Mack Center.

Sarah is currently a mainstay of "ASAP '07," a once-a-week, noontime musical variety show, and also hosts Little Big Superstar, a reality star search program for aspiring child performers that is now in its third season with Makisig Morales as her co-host.

Sarah Gerónimo, tinseltown's newest Cinderella, grew up in Sta. Cruz, Manila, in a rented house.

To say that Sarah possessed a natural love to perform is an understatement. She actively participated in school programs and joined many singing contests throughout her childhood. At age three, she was already in the kiddie show "Pen pen de Sarapen." She was also cast in "For Kids Only" and "Hiraya Manawari." She was part of the first batch of stars in "Ang TV." Yet it was Sarah's talent for singing that would cause her father to focus on developing it by enrolling her at the "Center for Pop Music, Philippines" at six years of age. Her dad also encouraged little Sarah to train at home for two hours each day.

Indeed, there always seems to be a bright side for Sarah Gerónimo. She says that when kids join her onstage, for example, such fan enthusiasm makes it all worthwhile, no matter how hectic her workload gets.
