[edit] Location
Sapperton Station is located along Brunette Avenue in the Sapperton area of New Westminster, above a Canadian Pacific right-of-way, on the shores of the Fraser River. It is connected to ground level by a newly built stairway on Brunette Avenue near the Royal Columbian Hospital. This station is temporarily unaccessible by wheelchair. Wheelchair and disabled passengers should contact Translink for more information.
[edit] History
The station was built in 2002 as part of the Millennium Line. Before the Millennium Line was complete, a short spur from Columbia Station was opened in eastern New Westminster, as a test track; this spur included the stations of Sapperton and Braid.
All the stations along the Millennium Line have unique design, and Sapperton is no different. This elevated station contains a mezzanine level connected to the platform level by stairs, escalators and elevators. There are two side platforms, separated by an artwork wheel.
[edit] Services
This station provides quick access to Royal Columbian General Hospital, one of the oldest and busiest in British Columbia.
