I'm currently working mostly on Palestine related articles.
Some interesting UN documets:
- The Future of Arab Palestine and the Question of Partition
- (30 July 1949) PROGRESS REPORT OF THE UNITED NATIONS MEDIATOR ON PALESTINE
- (13 October 1949) GORDON CLAPP SPEAKS ON WORK OF THE UN ECONOMIC SURVEY FOR THE MIDDLE EAST This is particularly interesting in that it refers to "Arab Palestine" and "the Gaza area" as distinct areas. Also a reference to Jewish refugees from the just-ended war.
- (15 May 1950) Working paper prepared by the Secretariat Analysis of the refuguee problem by the United Nations Conciliation Commission for Palestine
- (14 November 1951) SUMMARY RECORD OF A MEETING BETWEEN THE COMMISSION AND THE ARAB DELEGATIONS Comments of the Arab delegation
- A/648 (16 September 1948) PROGRESS REPORT OF THE UNITED NATIONS MEDIATOR
- Historical Survey of Efforts Summary of the refugee problem as of 1961
- PALESTINE PROGRESS REPORT OF THE UNITED NATIONS MEDIATOR ON PALESTINE UK draft resolution. "...INSTRUCTS the Conciliation Commission, in full consultation with the inhabitants of Arab Palestine, to assist the governments of the Arab States concerned to arrange for the disposition of this territory in accordance with the aforesaid recommendation"
- ISRAELI-JORDAN MIXED ARMISTICE COMMISSION FINDS VIOLATION OF ARMISTICE AGREEMENT BY ISRAEL Mixed Armistice Commission report on the explusion of the inhabitants of Wadi Fukin
- S/PV.630 27 October 1953 MAC report on the Qibya massacre. Interesting early use of the term "Gaza Strip"
The articles on West Bank and the Gaza Strip do not currently make clear in their introductions that these territories together constitue the Palestinian territories. The articles state that they are "not de jure recognized as belonging to any state" but it seems that the UN General Assembly regards them as the soverign territory of the Palestinian people. (For example here)
