Santo Domingo Este is the provincial capital of the Dominican Province of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Santo Domingo Este used to be part of the Official Santo Domingo de Guzman and the D.N. before the Law 163-01 Of the Dominican Republic.

Santo Domingo Este is cross the Osama River which divides the east and west sections of the city. This eastern side is more residential and least commercially developed but it's undergoing change the same way as the D.N.

Recently the Santo Domingo Este has experienced growth even thought not with the same rate as the Santo Domingo de Guzman. Department Store and malls have been established lately stimulating the Economical Growth of this section.
