The Santa Rosa Junior College ("SRJC") is a community college located in the city of Santa Rosa in Sonoma County, California. It is the tenth oldest community college in the state, which was founded in 1918. The Santa Rosa Junior College was modeled as a "junior" version of nearby University of California at Berkeley. It was intended to be a feeder school for the U.C. system, and still is to this day, with a special program designed for the direct transfer of students to various campuses in the U.C. system upon the completion of certain prerequisites.

[edit] Campus
The SRJC has a beautiful and traditional-style 100+ acre campus with ivy-covered brick buildings on a backdrop of rolling green lawns, dotted with ancient oak trees and redwoods in Santa Rosa, and a 40-acre campus in Petaluma. It also has a Public Safety Training Center in Windsor, and a 365-acre self-supporting farm near Forestville, a Culinary Arts Center in downtown Santa Rosa, and a Technology Academy on the Petaluma Campus. It has a remarkable number of accomplished professors for a community college, and is consistently ranked as one of the top community colleges in the nation. The school is also blessed with an unusually large grant and scholarship system that is the legacy of the Doyle family, resulting in one of the largest trusts for any community college in the nation.
[edit] Frank P. Doyle Library
In August of 2006, SRJC opened the Frank P. Doyle Library. Named after the college's most significant endower, the four-story building is the largest on campus at 145,000 total square feet. The library is a technologically advanced structure that incorporates numerous green building features designed to make it energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
