Santa Fe and The Fat City Horns is a 14 member R&B/funk/soul/salsa/jazz/fusion band based in Las Vegas, Nevada. The band is the creation of guitarist Jerome Lopez, an experienced Las Vegas musician/writer/producer. The core members of the band appeared in the Clint Holmes show at Harrah's Hotel and Casino until it closed on September 30th, 2006, and a number of the band members are also employed in other major casino shows around the city. The band features a 6 piece horn section comprised of 2 trumpets, trombone, baritone sax, tenor sax, and alto sax (multi-instrumentalists all). The band performs a mix of "cover" songs and original material, working from written charts. In late 2005 they released a 2-disk live CD and a 2-disk live DVD of their performances at the Palace Station. The band recently moved on to perform at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, and opened the new Pearl Theater concert venue, the brainchild of Palms co-owner George Maloof, on March 12th, 2007.
