Sanna Annukka

Sanna Annukka is an Anglo-Finnish illustrator and printmaker from Brighton in England. She graduated from the University of Brighton in 2005 with a BA Hons in Illustration. Her first commission was the album artwork for the Keane album Under the Iron Sea and all singles released from that album. She currently runs her own company making and selling fine art prints.

Sanna Annukka is an illustrator and printmaker with a love for nature and folklore. Sanna Annukka is half finnish and half english. Sanna Annukka spent many summers throughout Sanna Annukka's childhood in Paltaniemi, a village in Finland, swimming and fishing in Oulujärvi and exploring the forests. Sanna Annukka also travelled to Lapland, camping by artic rivers enjoying the midnight sun, Sanna Annukka's summers in Finland hold some of Sanna Annukka's fondest memories and inspires Sanna Annukka's artwork heavily. Another major influence is Finland’s national epic, The Kalevala, a collection of folklore songs which Sann Annukka finds quite magical. Sanna Annukka's new range of prints coming out next year will depict ten different scenes from the Kalevala.

Sanna Annukka's graduated from the University of Brighton in July 2005 with a BA Hons in Illustration. Sanna Annukka's first commission was to illustrate British band Keane’s second album, ‘Under the Iron Sea’.

Sanna Annukka has since set up a company and over the coming years will look to expand Sanna Annukka's product range from fine art prints to other printed goods such as fabric wallhangings, wallpaper and limited edition silk screen printed picture books.
