Sanjay Shah

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sanjay Shah is a former Kenyan national. In 2004 he gave up his Kenyan passport and flew to the UK on a British Overseas citizen passport which permits temporary entry but not residence.

He was then sent back to Kenya where he staged a 13 month protest, living in the international area of Nairobi airport between the departure lounges and the immigration desks. He washed in the public lavatories and ate and drank gifts from cafe workers and travellers.

On July 12, 2005 he was given full British citizenship, followed later by a British Citizen passport and another flight to the UK.
