From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

SANGONeT is a South African organisation, whose acronym stands for The South African NGO Network.

It is a civil society organisation with a focus on ICTs founded in 1987, and has a history closely linked to the social and political changes experienced by South Africa during its transition to democracy.

In 2004, SANGONeT launched a new joint venture, called ngo.za, whose aim is to "meet and respond to the South African NGO sector's connectivity, hardware and e-business infrastructure requirements."

Its ngo.za portal offers a range of services including leased lines, ADSL, ISDN and dial-up with free technical support, virus protection and spam filtering; a range of computer hardware solutions; e-mail to SMS messaging; web hosting services on dedicated servers; sending and receiving faxes using email.
