Sangola

Sangola Municipality is the second oldest in Maharashtra that of year 1857. As heard from my grandfather, there was a time this place was used to be called as 'Sangole Sonyache' meaning Sangole with abundance of gold. Legend goes that the town was named after six Ingole [surname] abodes which went on to become known as saha ingole [six ingole] or Sangole. The town, presently, has one of the finest cotton spinning, named, 'Sangola Taluka Sahakri Sut Girni ' which was awarded best spinning mill for few years.
Sangola is famous for ANAR production. Chopadi is one of the village in sangola taluka. It is around 28km from sangola at south-west. Near chopadi there are some historical places such as Buddihal banglow(Banglow made by British) and Golghumat. The native of 'adhunik Valmiki' and GEETRAMAYANKAR G.D.Madgulkar is only 2kms from chopadi.
In sangola taluka all political parties and leaders are inactive. Nobody is caring of the people. They are coming to people only after 5years and inbetween also if elections are there. The most of the population is farmers but there is great water crisis. In city as well as all villages the people are struggling for water but all politicians are enjoying this issue.
