Sangita Myska

Sangita Myska is a British television presenter and journalist, presently with the BBC. She is currently a regular correspondent on BBC News 24.

After graduating in journalism, she worked for a couple of months on an industrial health and safety magazine. She said of the experience: The Editor was bonkers and I was paid less than it cost me to get into work. That said, I learnt that persistence pays off essentially and pig swill can be dangerous.

Myska's career in television began when she won a BBC Talent competition. She joined BBC Radio Five Live as a correspondent and presenter, before joining BBC Scotland as a correspondent. She then joined BBC News 24 in 1999, initially as a correspondent and then producer. Myska joined BBC1 in 2002 as a correspondent on the main national news programs, and then anchored BBC Three's The 7 O'Clock News from its launch in February 2003 with Ben McCarthy and Tazeen Ahmed, before returning to the BBC's main bulletins in March 2004. She had been due to join Five News for its relaunch in January 2005 as a reporter and relief presenter though this never materialised. She has instead remained at the BBC as a News Correspondent on the main bulletins as well as News 24.

Myska has also worked as current affairs presenter on "Real Story" with Fiona Bruce; presented "Outrageous Fortunes – Guinness" for BBC One and BBC Three; fronted BBC Two's Current Affairs series "Lifting the Bonnet" and worked on "Holiday" and "Summer Holiday".
