Sandy Burnett (born December 8th 1964) is a veteran British record producer.

Born and raised in Nottingham, England.

After a brief stint on local radio, he started working in recording studios in 1981 as an assistant engineer but soon turned freelance as an engineer/producer. He later ran his own production company "Big Bear Productions" as well as numerous recording studios and his labels Hazard Records and Resolution Records. Burnett is a long-time associate of producer/arranger Ian McKenzie Anderson and producer/remixer Carl West and has formerly worked closely with prog-rock solo artist Rog Patterson. His preferred genres are rock, electronica and symphonic/classical. His trademark styles are aggressive guitars, big orchestral and vocal arrangements and the use of unusual sound effects as part of musical tracks.

Burnett credits Ravel's "Bolero" as being the first piece of music to catch his attention, whilst "Underpass" by British synthesizer-pop pioneer John Foxx is the record which inspired him to pursue a career in music himself. Burnett still considers Foxx's work to be a source of inspiration and also cites British composer and producer Mike Batt as a major influence.

Burnett composes and arranges music for film and television. He has had hits with Dezire featuring Jo Frances, BWT featuring Nina, Leif Benjamin and other European dance artists such as Massive Ego, Jason Prince,Flesh, Teresa Marie, Twister, DeFacto, Candi Staton, Angie Brown and Love Machine. He now works mainly with acoustic or rock acts and solo artists and has recorded North Of Shorty, Hotrod Hullabaloo, Beauty Faulkner, Mykal Gambull, Fy, Psalm 91, Something Drift, Stripped Down Radio and Wheatmonkeys among others.

Resident in Canada since 2002. Recently celebrated 25 years in the recording industry (13th July 2006).

Not to be confused with the BBC broadcaster and classical music lover of the same name.
