Sandra Tilley

Sandra Tilley (1945-1981) was an American R&B and soul singer, most notably for being the members of legendary Motown girl groups The Velvelettes and Martha and the Vandellas.

Tilley joined the Velvelettes after one of the original members of the group left in 1966. She left the group to replace original Vandellas member Rosalind Ashford in 1969 helping the group to score modest chart hits with "I Can't Dance to That Music You're Playin'", "(We've Got) Honey Love" and "Bless You" before the group splintered altogether following a farewell tour in late-1972 splitting for good in 1973.

Tilley eventually retired from singing after contracting a brain tumor eventually dying after a brain aneurysm in 1981 at the age of thirty-six.
