[edit] Overview

As the sister of current US President Wayne Palmer and the deceased David Palmer, she is featured in the show's sixth and current season.[1] Palmer is the attorney and partner of Walid Al-Rezani, a legal counselor for the Islamic-American Alliance in Washington, D.C., who consequently becomes involved in the day's events.

[edit] Background

With a Bachelor of Arts in Social Justice from Georgetown University, she received her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law.

Her first legal experience was with Fidley, Barrow & Bain, Attorney at Law, the same law firm her late brother first worked in. She later served as a legal counsel to her brother David Palmer when he was in the United States House of Representatives. Sandra then went on to become a legal advisor to the Civil Liberties Commission.

Sandra has also served as a visiting Lecturer with the American Constitutional Society for Law and Policy and as an advisor to the White House Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board.

She is a board member of the Thurgood Marshall Law Library Historical Society for Publications of the United States Commission on Civil Rights.

In her past, Sandra was arrested for a protest march. However, she was not convicted and the record has been expunged by her brother President Wayne Palmer.

[edit] Day 6

Sandra was introduced in the 2nd episode of season 6. Federal agents were at her office building, investigating her boyfriend and client Walid Al-Rezani, a Muslim. Sandra would not stand for this and deleted some files the agents were looking for. Walid was placed in a detention facility and was told to go undercover in order to extract information from possible terrorists in the facility. Sandra looked on and rushed to Walid's aid after he was beaten up.

She is then seen with her brother Wayne in the White House bunker medical room as he is in comatose after being in an assassination attempt orchestrated by a member of his own administration. When Karen Hayes tells her about the impending nuclear attack, she reluctantly consents to wake President Palmer from his induced coma.
