Sandis Prusis

Sandis Prūsis (born 24 October 1965, Ventspils) is a Latvian bobsleigh pilot, who competed at the senior level from 1983 to 2003. He won the Latvian championship eight times, the four-man European Championship once, and carried the flag of Latvia at the 1998 Winter Olympics. After ending his professional athlete career he coached Italian bobsleigh team from 2004-2006. Now he's back in Latvia and in next season he will be Latvian bobsleigh team coach.

Prūsis won the four-man European Championship at Winterberg in 2003, along with brakemen Mārcis Rullis, Jānis Silarājs and Jānis Ozols.
His eight Latvian championship titles are detailed below. These races were always 2-man races, and held in the Sigulda bobsleigh track.

His best World Cup overall placing is a second-place in four-man during the 1999/2000 season, and he also won silver at the 2000 4-man European Championship at Cortina d'Ampezzo, along with brakemen Mārcis Rullis, Matīss Zacmanis and Jānis Ozols.

At Nagano in the 1998 Winter Olympics, Prūsis finished fifth in the four-man race (his best Olympic placing) and sixth in the two-man race. Four years later, he competed in the Salt Lake City Olympics, this time getting placings of seventh (four-man) and 11th (two-man)
