[edit] Biography
Sander Van Doorn’s 2006 biography began with the A. B and C....... As we find ourselves ploughing into 2007, we’re desperately looking for what follows Z...?
Everybody wants a piece of Van Doorn, and in 2007, most people will get it. In just 3 years, and at only 27, the ‘boy next door’ from Eindhoven in Holland has the world literally at his feet. 2006 was phenomenal year for Sander; a year that saw him accomplish things only dreams are made of. He’s an artist in a league of his own; he is he man who’s got it all.
Despite his phenomenal success, Sander remains virtually unaffected by his achievements, and is the ‘peoples’ DJ wherever he plays. Whether he’s releasing a new track, playing to 500 or 50,000, his only concern is ensuring his audience loving what he does. There is nothing superstar about the man himself, yet his work throughout the past 18 months have earned him that very status. He’s risen through the ranks, and whilst doing so has taken a big bite at re-shaping ‘dance music’ as we know it. Once a follower, Van Doorn is now a true leader.
In 2006 alone, Sander made 3 appearances in BBC Radio 1, including an essential mix, and a live set from Ibiza. His cheeky remix of the Arctic Monkey’s smash hit “When The Sun Goes Down” was one of the year’s Big Room Tunes. He crashed into the DJ Mag Top 100 as a new entry at #32, and rose 129 places to #7 in the all important ‘Trance Addict DJ Chart’. He compiled and mixed the Dance Valley compilation, and to round off the year nicely, produced a cover-mount CD for Mixmag, which was smacked on the cover the February 07 issue.
When Sander isn’t playing, he is held up in his ‘self built’ studio, where every minute is precious. Van Doorn writes, produces, engineers and masters ALL of his material, and this is something that will never change. When a Sander Van Doorn track is dropped – the entire dance-floor knows about it! His productions are utterly unique in every way shape and form. His ability to churn out incredible music, that crosses a multitude of different genres, makes them suitable for most DJs playing anything over 120bpms.
With a diary that already boasts the biggest festivals, clubs and world-wide dance events of 2007, as well as the smaller clubs that have all played a part in bolstering Sander to where he is now; there is no doubt that this is the year is THE year Van Doorn really shows the world what they’ve been missing!
