Sandalfoot Cove, Florida

Sandalfoot Cove is a census-designated place (CDP) located in an unincorporated area near Boca Raton in Palm Beach County, Florida. The population was 16,582 at the 2000 census. Although, not officially within the city limits, it posses the address of Boca Raton.

Sandalfoot Cove is located at GR1, or about five miles southwest of Boca Raton.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 16,582 people, 6,895 households, and 4,592 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 2,155.7/km² (5,587.0/mi²). There were 7,743 housing units at an average density of 1,006.6/km² (2,608.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 87.21% White, 3.96% African American, 0.15% Native American, 2.97% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 3.29% from other races, and 2.37% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 14.46% of the population.
There were 6,895 households out of which 30.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.8% were married couples living together, 11.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.4% were non-families. 25.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.40 and the average family size was 2.91.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 22.3% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 30.9% from 25 to 44, 21.1% from 45 to 64, and 19.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 90.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.8 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $44,243, and the median income for a family was $49,871. Males had a median income of $39,774 versus $29,920 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $23,232. About 3.3% of families and 5.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 5.4% of those under age 18 and 3.3% of those age 65 or over.
