Sand Hutton

Sand Hutton is a village and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England, about six miles north-east of York.
Part of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs's Central Science Laboratory is sited at Sand Hutton.
The village has a church, a community hall and is located in an area popular with shooting and other field sports. The Village and most of the Land is owned by the Church of England Commissioners. Located east and west of the village there are numerous pitts used for fishing.
The village was once own by an excentric Englishman called James Walker. He had is own narrow gauge steam railway that provided transport around his large estate.
