Sanchore (formerly Satyapur) is a town in Jalore district of Rajasthan, India. It is the headquarters of the tehsil by the same name. Located on National Highway No 15, the town is situated 154 km from Jalore and 45 km from Bhinmal.
The town was historically ruled by Jalore rulers. There is a well known Jain temple in the town called Godiji Parshwanath .A cattle fair is held every year in April and May.
An oil exploration company in 2004 discovered oil in Barmer-Sanchore basin. The Narmada Canal, which begins in Gujarat, enters Rajasthan state near village Silu in Sachore tehsil.
Pathmeda village near Sanchore has Gopal Govardhan Gaushala , one of the largest Gaushalas in India .Spread over 200 acres the Gushala takes care of a 15,000 cattle population.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Sanchore had a population of 25,881. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Sanchore has an average literacy rate of 48%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 62%, and female literacy is 32%. In Sanchore, 20% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Many of the natives of Sanchore presently reside in Mumbai, but still everybody is well connected to Sanchore as all the social & religious functions take place in Sanchore. Many of the people in Sanchore are Jains with surnames like Doshi, Bhansali, Bothra, Chandan, Bohara, Bokadia, Shah, Kanungo, Munot, Burad. Most of the families have business in Stainless Steel Industry.
There are in all 8 Jain Temples in Sanchore & every Temple has its own significance & history till date and the Ninth Temple & Dadawadi is scheduled to open on 26th February.
The Sanchore region have a great infuence of late Jain Acharya Shri Kanak Prabhusuriswarji. He attained Moksh (Nirvana) in a town near Sanchore called Hadecha. Hadecha is an important town in Sanchore Tehsil. Hadecha celebrated in January 2007 completion of 100 years of the first Jain Temple. Hadecha will now be called as a Tirth (most holy pace of worship) under Jain religion. A "Kirti Stambh" (monument for glory) is being built in the memories of Acharya Shri Kanak Prabhusuriswarji. There is "BABA RAMDEV TEMPLE" on the Hadecha road near Sanchore. sanchore have newly opened R.T.O. office near PWD rest house.
