In the manga Saiyuki, the Sanbutsushin are the Three Aspects of Buddha. They are the voice of heaven, relating the orders of Heaven to those high priests which are permitted to see them. They are housed in the Palace of the Setting Sun, south of Chang'An (Modern Xi'an). They relay the orders of Kanzeon Bosatsu to Genjo Sanzo, sending him on his journey West.
