San Rafael is a 5th class municipality in the province of Iloilo, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 12,847 people in 2,450 households.

San Rafael is politically subdivided into 9 barangays.

Aripdip
Bagacay
Calaigang
Ilongbukid
Poscolon
San Andres
San Dionisio
San Florentino
Poblacion

San Rafael is the Main part of all these places. It has the biggest primary and secondary schools among all these barangays. The primary school is Polacion San Rafael Elementary School.It has good standard of teaching that provides good students to pass the test of life.And this also apply to San Rafael National High School. The System of school are:2years in Kinder Garden and 6years in elemtary and 6years in high school. There are 4Gradings every school year.Which mean Students will have a test each Grading(This applies to students from Grade1 to 4th year).The 4th Grading is the most imporatant because it decides wheather a student can go to the next grade/year.

Primary School:Kinder Garden;2years(K-1&K-2,Minimum age:2y.o.)

Grade1(age7)-Grade6(age12)

There are also other kinder gardens.The one that's still open is the Batist kinder Garden Church and The other one,that was closed when the good priest(Father Glue)was moved to other church and past away. Secondary School:1stYear-4thYear The Subjects for Grade1 studenst are English,Mathematics,Pilipino,Sibika at Cultura(History&Culture). Philippines is the first and only country that has English for the Subjects at school. English is used in English,Mathematics&Science subjects. Grade2 students has Enlish,Mathematics,Science,Sibika at Cutura,Agriculture.

From Grade3-Grade6 students have more subjects like MusicArt,P.E. and Hekasi(its contain 5 subjects but graded as one subject),etc.

Usually everyone wants to study further after high school but can't afford it.

Philippines is NOT a POOR country but More likely to afford better facilities for its people but corruption is the big ussue.

for Example(this is true) Before the current Mayor Ronie Balasico(San Rafael's Mayor) is Elected for mayor.San Rafael has a high standard for cleanliness and good facilities.(check for youslelf to what it was and what it is now).

Curroption is the big problem and cheating for the votes. Philippines is a better place if these probelems are stopped. But this is not likely to happen.So They(the government)should change more of the laws and concentrate on what would be good for the people.Like what's there to help them
