San Mateo Atenco

San Mateo Atenco is a city and its surrounding municipality located in the state of México in Mexico. The city serves as municipal seat of the municipality, which lies west of the Federal District (Distrito Federal) near the municipality of Metepec, in the central part of the state of México, and is part of the Toluca urban area. The census of 2005 reported a population of 63,356 for the city and 66,740 for the municipality as a whole. The municipality has an area of 12.58 km² (4.857 sq mi).
