San Demetrio Corone is a town and comune in the province of Cosenza in the Calabria region of southern Italy.

It is the location of the Collegio (boarding school) of Sant'Adriano which used to be, in its halcyon days, centre of patriotic theorists/revolutionaries during Italy's war of Independence against the Austro-Hungarian empire of the 19th century.

It is located, surrounded by lush vegetation, overlooking the Piana Di Sibari plains, with majestic views of the Appennini mountain range and the Ionian sea dominating the scenery.

San Demetrio Corone has its origins in the 1470's, founded by Albanians who fled their motherland to escape persecution from the invading Ottomans. Like many other towns of Albanian origins, the citizens of San Demetrio, as well as Italian as their main language, also speak Albanian as their second language, although the latter is an italianised form of it.

The church of Sant'Adriano (built ca. 1000AD), adjacent to the aforementioned Collegio, is a fine example of early Norman-Byzantine architecture and host to some exquisite mosaics.
