[edit] Fair use images
I just re-removed the image from orbital bombardment and figured I should expand on the reasoning a bit here. Fair use is limited by how the thing being "fairly used" is being used. One cannot just declare that an image is fair use and then use it at will, one has to look at each situation it's used in and explain why that particular situation is fair use. In the case of orbital bombardment, the article has nothing to do with Warhammer 40,000 specifically, and there are plenty of other ways in which orbital bombardment could be illustrated so we don't have to use that copyrighted image to do so. So it's not fair use in this particular case to use that image on that article. See Wikipedia:Image description page#Fair use rationale for more information. Bryan 16:05, 30 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] [Neo-ninja]]
re: Neo-ninja. I rv'ed this article back to the last coherent version, it was vandalism. Please do not blnak the rticles if suggestinog for AfD or CSD. Xaosflux 16:55, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
I guess I got carried away. You did leave the deletion request, though?
It really doesn't look like a CSD to me, please re-add it if you would like, this article has been around for 10 months though, probally an AfD would be more approriate. Xaosflux 17:01, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
As it is now as of your revert, it can stay. The one before my edits, on the other hand, highjacked the article to make a personal attack on a website.
Great, Thanks for your help! Xaosflux 17:06, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Kanji-death-2.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Kanji-death-2.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Longhair 09:11, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Warhammer 40,000 Project
Hi, I have noticed that you are an active contributor to the articles regarding Warhammer 40,000. I am currently gauging support for a Warhammer 40,000 project. If you are interested, sign your name on the page. More details from my subpage.-Localzuk (talk) 14:11, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Warhammer 40,000 Project started
Hi, I have started to create the Warhammer 40,000 project, and preliminary information is available from Wikipedia:WikiProject Warhammer 40,000. Feel free to join in and make changes. There is a fair amount to do before the project starts working properly so we need to have a good go at it :) -Localzuk (talk) 10:56, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Request for edit summary
Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 6% for major edits and 4% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 150 minor edits in the article namespace.)
This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 04:14, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thank You!
Thanks for the images you posted for the Ultrasaurus and Blade Liger articles, I really appreciate it.
We do have a little bit of a wikiproject going at the moment, so if you are interested in contributing to further Zoids-related articles, come drop us a line at Wikipedia:WikiProject Zoids. -- Saberwyn 21:37, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Just a note
I've nominated Image:BFury.PNG and Image:UltrasaurusZBC.PNGfor deletion. Don't panic, it's only because I've replaced them with Image:BFury.JPG and Image:UltrasaurusZBC.JPG. It's the exact same image, just saved in a different format to shrink the file size and make it compatible with the Zoids infobox template. -- Saberwyn 10:08, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] web-screenshot
Hello, the {{web-screenshot}} template is for use in screenshot of webpages, not images that you may have found on a website. A good example of a correctly tagged image in that category is Image:Froogles main page.PNG. Also if something seems odd about an edit or you generally don't understand an edit summary feel free to ask the person that did the edit rather than just reverting it with no discussion. People usually are editing the pages for a reason, and it's usually given in the edit summary. Sometimes they can be difficult to understand, but most editors are happy to explain. - cohesiont 07:49, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
Sorry about that. I thought those were ones I forgot to put the copyright on, since it was just removed. But what do you use for images from a defunct website? Although I might have taken them from the print-screening of the site, I forgot.
- Yeah, whether the website is online anymore or not really doesn't matter, the person that used to run it might still have copyright of the images, depending on how they licensed them etc. For a list of all the tags available you can check out Wikipedia:Image copyright tags - cohesiont 19:34, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

- Wow, thanks for tagging it character-art for some reason that didn't even cross my mind, I think the image was so detailed I didn't think of that, I think that's the best possible tag though :D - cohesiont 05:42, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:RoRTroops.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:RoRTroops.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] Re: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Hi! I just wanted you to know that this edit has been reverted as unhelpful. The article is about the film, and anything other than a bare mention that a game is based thereon fails Wikipedia's standards for relevance. RadioKirk talk to me 19:17, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Apostrophes
Hi. Just a quick note: "it's" always means "it is". The possessive form, used to indicate that something belongs to something else, is "its" (without an apostrophe). Not too important in the grand scale of things. Cheers --Pak21 07:10, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your edit to F-15 Eagle
Wikipedia is not a collection of merely verifiable facts: facts in Wikipedia must also be notable. As such, very few aircraft appearances in media warrant a special mention. Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject_Aircraft/page_content#Popular_culture for guidelines. Thank you for contributing.--Denniss 08:36, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Your edit to the Dark Crusade section of the Dawn of War article
You changed the information to say that it was unknown whether the infiltration showcased by Tau Stealthsuits would be a universal change to all units in the game, or whether it was unique to the Stealthsuits. This is in fact incorrect, as the IGN article about the video in question pretty much states that it's a universal change, and I'm pretty sure one of the Relic employees confirmed this on the Relicnews forums.

[edit] Please use edit summaries
Hello. Please be courteous to other editors and use edit summaries when updating articles. The Mathbot tool shows your usage of edit summaries to be extremely low:
- Edit summary usage for SAMAS: 19% for major edits and 7% for minor edits. Based on the last 150 major and 150 minor edits in the article namespace.
Using edit summaries helps other editors quickly understand your edits, which is especially useful when you make changes to articles that are on others' watchlists. Thanks and happy editing! --Kralizec! (talk) 03:20, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
I just wanted to drop you a line and apologise about my old statment on the vore AfD. I had a mix up with another article and if your decision to keep the article was in part based off my incorrect statment you might want to review the article one more time to make sure that you stance has not changed. Sorry to cause any confusion. NeoFreak 21:43, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Blade Liger.PNG)
Thanks for uploading Image:Blade Liger.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
