Samundri
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Samundri (Urdu: سمندری) is a city in Punjab, Pakistan. It was the tehsil (county) of Jhang District in 1900; later, when Lyallpur (Faisalabad) was made a district in 1904, Samundri was made its tehsil. Because there were three Hindu temples (mandir) in the locality, the town was first called Sehmandri; the name was subsequently converted to Samundri. In the reign of Sher Shah Suri this area was a link road for transportation.
