Samsung Techwin (Korean: 삼성테크윈) is a Korean aeronautics, optoelectronics, automations and defense company. It is one of the subsidiaries of Samsung Group.

Founded in 1977, the company established precision instrument laboratory in 1978. It started making cameras in 1979. By technical cooperations with General Electric, it started manufacturing jet engines for Korean aircraft in 1980. Manufacture of 155mm Self-propelled artillery began in 1984. It changed its name to Samsung Aerospace Industries in 1987, also starting to make helicopters. It acquired Rollei, a German camera manufacturer, and Union Optics of Japan, a manufacturer of semiconductor equipments. Co-developed SB427(helicopter) with Bell in 1996 and began selling digital cameras under the brand of Samsung Kenox in 1997. Same year, it made the first KF-16 in Korea. It handed over aircraft business to Korea Aerospace Industries in 1999 and changed its name to Samsung Techwin (used currently)in 2000. It exported K-9 to Turkey. In 2005, the company marked first place in Korean digital cameras market share and started a technical co-operation with Pentax.[1]

Currently, the company has about six business areas. Here's a list of the products from each areas.
- Optics and Digital Imagings: Digital Cameras including DSLRs, CCTVs, modules, etc.
- Semiconductor Systems: SMTs and Wire bonders
- Semiconductor Components: Lead frames, LOCs, Metal CSPs, FPCs, etc.
- Power Systems: Gas Turbines, Engines for helicopters, Refridgerant Compressors, etc.
- Defense Industries: K-9 thunder self-propelled artilleries, K10 ARV(Ammunition Resupply Vehicle)s, sub-systems for K2 Black Panther
- Transportations: Samsung Techwin operates a few helicopter routes inside South Korea.[2]
