• Former Dean of the faculty of Urban Planning (2000-2002).
• Urban planning advisor for the Cairo Governor (2005-present).
• Member of Culture Supreme Council, committee of architecture (2000-present).
• Former tourism planning & development advisor for the Minister of Tourism (1990-1993).
• Former consultant for the Agha-Khan Award for Islamic Architecture (1984).
• Former expert for the UNISCO organization, dealing with a project in Mauritania (1979) and a project in Algiers (1980).
• Consultant architect, Urban conservation and development for various projects during about 41 years in: Egypt, France, Morocco and Algiers.
