Samakkhi Witthayakhom School (the Institute of Unity) is the oldest provincial school and has long been considered one of the province's most prestigious schools. Regarded as the best and most selective school of the province, it normally attracts top students around the country. Established in 1908 by Phraya Si Suriya Ratchawaranuwat (Chiang Rai Governor).   • Philosophy Best on study, best on perform, best on development
  • Proverb Best by examples is better than teachings
  • Seal tightly-roped strand of the shortened term of School title, "S.W.K", reflecting of the unity. It floats upon the clouds, meaning the respectfulness. Royal insignia with the glorious lights is above the strand, this reflects illustratiousness of the school. Beneath the roped strand is Bhuddhist Era of the Established Year and the ribbon with school motto.

[edit] Short History

In [1908] Phraya Si Suriya Ratchawaranuwat (Suk Tisyaputra), Governor of Changwat Chiang Rai, responded His Majesty King Chulalongkorn's Policy on providiing of education troughout the Kingdom. The Governor, by and with the advice and consent of Public Unit Generals, has therefore established the Provincial School entitling "Samakkhi Witthayakhom School" at the eminence of Wat Ngam Mueang.

In 1938, Permanent Buildings were established. Phra Phanom Nakharanurak, Governor of Changwat Chiang Rai, presided over the Opening Ceremony on 11 February 1938. Samakkhi Witthayakhom School has produced and granted many advanced persons to the sociality. In 1991, the School has therefore recieved the Best Secondary School Awards by Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on 20 May 1991.

In 2007, the School will be celebrating its Centenary.

The School ranks on the 1st still, and provideds many efficacious stuffs and productive students.
