Sam Solovey was a contestant on Donald Trump's The Apprentice. His erratic behavior and the infamous "stare" he gave after his firing made him one of the most talked-about contestants on the show, alongside Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, notorious for her excuses and tricks of getting her teammates in trouble, and Bill Rancic, the winner of the competition.

On the night of the finale, Solovey offered Trump a briefcase of $250,000 if Trump would hire him. Ultimately, Solovey was not offered a job with Trump, but it was later revealed that Solovey earned an undisclosed amount from Samsonite for advertising their briefcases (Solovey had mentioned that the money was "...in this Samsonite briefcase" when he made the offer to Trump)[1] on a night which averaged over 28 million viewers.
