Sam Simmons

Sam Simmons (born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia) is a comedian based in Melbourne, Australia.

Sam often has shows in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival performing often at the festival club.

In 2005, a joint show with Dave Callan (also with Tim Harris and Steve Bunce),The Sunshine Factory was nominated for a Gibbo award at the festival.

Sam received a nomination in the 2006 Barry Award,nominated for most outstanding comedy during the Melbourne International comedy festival. The award in honour of Barry Humphries. He was the winner of the best emerging comedy award at the 2006 Adelaide Fringe festival.

Sam is performing his show Sam Simmons and the Sex & Science of Boredom in Adelaide in March 2007 as part of the Fringe Festival.

Sam started at Triple J in 2006 where he works as a disk jockey. He began with presenting the Mid-Dawn shift (1am-6am) during the week.

On January 21, 2007, Sam started his Saturday night / Sunday morning program The Tuck-Shop on Triple J (1am-6am).

Sam has recently been producing skits for the Comedy Channel, for which he has received heavy criticism for his jibes of jesus.
