[edit] Her Story

[edit] How Samantha Got to P.C.

When Jasper "Jax" Jacks was called to his ailing father's bedside, he learned that his father had heavily relied upon the Dead Man's Hand, and he was missing four of the cards. Jax immediately went on a mission to find the missing cards. This is when he met Sam McCall, who was also in search of the cards. During the ensuing weeks Sam and Jax became close and Sam didn't want Jax to get the cards and leave her.

Jax, scared his dad would die without his 'luck' found that A.J. Quartermaine had the last four cards. Sneaky Jax told AJ that he and Sam were dating. In an attempt to make Sam, who was not exactly elegant, more ladylike, he tried to give her a makeover. Ultimately Sam got all five pieces to the Dead Man's Hand, but she would not hold onto them for long.

Jax ended up with the cards. when Sam sabotaged his car they decided to gamble til it was fixed. Jax ended up winning Sam a boat, the Haunted Star, and then they made love for the first time. Unfortunately by the time Jax got to his father, he was too late. Sam was racked with guilt because it was her fault they didn't get the lucky cards to save Jax's father's life. When Jax discovered Sam sabotaged his car, he pushed Sam away. Jax and Sam vowed revenge against each other, but they both actually had strong romantic feelings for each other. Sam soon found herself wrapped up with another man, Mob Boss Sonny Corinthos Jr.

[edit] Baby Girl McCall start to finish

When Sonny Corinthos was on the run from trying to kill Lorenzo Alcazar, he took Sam hostage and forced her to drive away from the crime scene. Ultimately Sonny let Sam go, but they did make an immediate connection bonding while trapped in the car.

Sam, who had broken up with Jax, ran into Sonny, who was angry thinking his wife Carly was cheating on him, ended up sleeping together. Although their relationship started out as purely physical, both Sam and Sonny could not help their growing feelings for each other. And although Sam did make love to Jax during the Port Charles Hotel fire, she was falling in love with Sonny. Sam found out she was pregnant soon after. A paternity test proved Sonny to be the father. She (Sam) initially planned to abort the baby, but Sonny's best friend, Jason Morgan convinced her not to abort or leave town and offered to raise the baby as his own.

[edit] A Tragic End

When Sonny's other daughter Kristina Davis was ill and needed a bone marrow transplant, Alexis Davis, Kristina's mother, asked Sam to induce early labor for the purpose of harvesting stem cells which would help Kristina. Sam refused, when her Ob/gyn explained a 10-20% chance of death for her baby.

This led to an emotional outburst and aggressive plea from Alexis. She asks Sam to reconsider, but Sam will not. "I'm begging you, mother to mother," Alexis says. "Nothing will go wrong." But 10% odds aren't good enough for Sam. Alexis asks Sam to accompany her to Kristina's room. "You're letting her die," Alexis says. "You're going to stand there and do nothing. Where is your compassion? Where is your humanity? How are you going to be able to live with yourself? I want you to look at her. I can't make you induce labor, but I can make you see the price of your selfishness." The two scream at each other. "I'll induce my labor for you!" Sam cries.

"My baby!" She clutches her stomach and falls as Jason catches her. "What did you do to her?" Jason yells at Alexis. "I didn't mean to upset her," Alexis says. Jason accuses Alexis of laying a guilt trip on Sam - the two go at it until Sonny breaks them up. "Sam is in the OR and Alexis put her there!" Jason screams. Carly is the first to find out about the outcome. Carly walks in, crying. "I'm sorry," she says to her husband. "The baby is dead." "NO!" Sonny screams.

"How can God let this happen?" Alexis arrives, expressing her sorrow. "If there were another way to save Kristina's life, I would do it. She's dying, Sonny. Kristina needs this. I'm begging you for yoru permission to get it." "You say I'm cold and have no conscience?" Sonny asks. "Look in the mirror." "I have no choice," Alexis whispers. Dr. Steven arrives. "We need your consent. If we're going to use the stem cells from the umbilical cord, we need to do it now." "If the situation was reversed, I would do it," Alexis says. "That's what you said about inducing labor," Sonny says. "I don't buy it for one second. You wouldn't take a 10% risk. You wouldn't risk one hair of your daughter's head. So don't stand here and lie to me." His voice breaks. "My daughter is dead. I want to grieve for her." "Your other daughter will die if she doesn't get the stem cells. This is it. There is no more time. You say you love her. Prove it," Alexis says.

[edit] Truth about the baby

Although initially believed by Sonny and Jason to be stress-induced from Alexis' yelling at Sam, it was later determined that the death was because of a pre-existing condition in which the placenta separated from Sam's uterus. While Sam was recovering, Sonny Corinthos authorized the harvesting of the stillborn's stem cells at the request of Alexis and Kristina's conditon turned around. Sam has often been seen blaming Alexis for her daughter's death, despite the medical conformation that her daughter's death was unstoppable. Sam feelings were futher charged when Alexis chose to save herself while Sam's mentally-handicapped older brother died. Any chance at a rekindling of feelings for Sonny and Sam ended when Sonny gave the final authorization to harvest the stem cells after the baby's death while Sam lay unconscious.

[edit] Aftermath of Baby Girl McCall's death

As Sam deals with the lose of her child, she becomes closer to Jason. He asks her several times to move in with him and when she does, their relationship grew stronger. Jason and Sam attend Emily and Nikolas's wedding. Sam drinks a little too much and shares a kiss with Jason.

After a bumpy start, Sam and Jason are again living together. Sam and Jason become foster parents of sorts by agreeing to care for a baby that Bridget, one of Courtney's foundation kids, has given them. Jason isn't so sure at first but then supports Sam and the baby. Jason even proposes to Sam. He loves her and wants to be with her. Sam happily accepts. Bridget decides she wants her baby back. To avoid a serious court battle, Jason decides it would be best for baby Hope to be raised by Bridget and her grandmother. Sam tearfully returns Hope to Bridget, but makes it clear to Jason she'd never forgive him for this.

[edit] Looking for her birth mother

In 2006, she learned that she had been adopted and had never been told. During an encephalitis epidemic, the dying Danny told Sam how glad he was that their parents "chose her." DNA tests revealed that Danny could not have been her biological brother. After she and Jason investigated, they found records indicating that Alexis Davis is Sam's biological mother. Sam was dismayed by this news, as she disliked Alexis. Sam has blamed Alexis for the death of her baby, whose stem cells were used to save Kristina, the daughter of Alexis and Sonny, when she had aplastic anemia. Alexis had begged and yelled at the pregnant Sam to get her to agree to have labor induced so her child could be born early and her stem cells harvested to save the ill Kristina. Sam went into labor early and the baby was stillborn. Although her obstetrician later told Sam that the baby died because of a medical condition, not because of Alexis's actions, Sam still blamed her. Later, Sam also blamed Alexis for Danny's death in the epidemic, as the doctors chose the deathly ill Alexis to receive the antidote ahead of Danny and Danny was the one who died. Sam also disliked Alexis for pursuing charges against her fiance Jason, a mafia hitman, and later for representing Manny, a criminal who had stalked and attempted to rape Sam. Sam believes Alexis is arrogant and supercilious. Initially, Sam chose not to tell Alexis what she had learned.

[edit] Health crisis

Jason ultimately told Alexis the truth when Sam was in the hospital suffering from a bullet wound through her uterus and near death. Interestingly, Nikolas Cassadine, the son of Alexis's half-brother Stavros Cassadine, proved to have the same rare AB negative blood type as Sam. Nikolas donated blood when Sam needed transfusions and there was a shortage of her type at the hospital. There has been widespread fan speculation about the shared blood types and what they might imply about Sam's paternity. When Sam asked Alexis if she was "in love" with her baby's father, Alexis quickly changed the subject. No DNA tests have been done to confirm Sam's identity as Alexis's daughter and the father has not been definitely identified on the show. Alexis did say that the man never knew she was pregnant. She said her father, Mikkos, pressured her to give up her daughter and apparently altered the records to make it appear that Alexis's daughter died in a car accident when she was three. Alexis thought he did this so she could never find her daughter. Alexis told Sam she often thought about the daughter she gave up for adoption.

Alexis disagreed with Jason about the best course of treatment for Sam and had a team of doctors arrested for performing a surgery on Sam that another doctor said would kill her. The surgery saved Sam's life. Later, Alexis had Sam moved to a private hospital where Jason could not find her and tried to persuade Jason that he should break up with Sam for her own good. Jason later decided to end his engagement to Sam, though he told Alexis he came to this conclusion on his own and not because of Alexis's arguments. Alexis badly wanted to establish a relationship with Sam and asked Sam to move in with her family after she got out of the hospital. Sam got new clothes, thought of becoming a lawyer and got a job in the district attorney's office. However, Sam also blames Alexis for breaking up her relationship with Jason and is determined to get even. Sam and Alexis had a bitter fight after Sam told Alexis's husband Ric Lansing that Alexis is a bitch. Alexis doesn't understand Sam's willingness to rely on men for her self esteem or her determination to be with a mobster. She told Sam she doesn't want her to poison Kristina and Molly with her pitiful attitude and ordered her to leave her house. As Alexis called Sam trash and stormed out of the house, Sam decided to hurt herself by proving Alexis right. Sam got drunk and slept with Ric. Alexis and Jason both separately witnesses the affair in action. Alexis kept silent though because she was secretely dealing with lung cancer. She wants Kristina and Molly to be raised together and feels that leaving them with Ric and Sam is the best of a series of imperfect choices. Alexis attempted to push Sam and Ric together as an attempt at a self-fullining prophecy for them to hook-up again. Sam, feeling guilty about her mother's illness, has tried to reconcile with Alexis and refused Ric when he attempted to sleep with her again. She also learned that Jason slept with Elizabeth Webber that same night he saw her and Ric sleeping together. Before she was placed in a medically-induced coma to treat pneumonia, Alexis made Sam promise that she will not see Jason again though as time went by Sam could not keep her promise and got back together with Jason.

[edit] Back with Jason

Sam has since reconciled with Jason and moved back in with him. She worked for a brief time at GH in the Filing Department but encountered problems with Elizabeth Webber and stepped down. She then started working as Edward Qurtermaine's assistant. But, Tracy found information on Angela Monroe, her past alias, and forced her to quit. Sam started working at the MetroCourt where she established a sort of friendship with Maxie Scorpio. During the MetroCourt Hostage Crisis she was able to escape with the aid of Jason (who was masked as one of the gunmen). She then warned the police that the MetroCourt lobby was rigged to explode. She is being regarded as a hero by the media and appeared on an episode of the fictional show Everyday Heroes.

On Everyday Heroes, Sam met a talk show host by the name of Amelia. She recognized Amelia's wrist watch as the one she had lost awhile back. Behind Sam's back, Amelia has been snooping around to learn as much as possible about Angela Monroe, Sam's previously mentioned alias. Amelia's recognition of the strong resemblance between a photograph of Angela, and Sam, is what caused her to grow suspicions. Sam received a letter addressed to Angela Monroe, but claimed it was for Spinelli to cover up in front of Jason. When she opened up the envelope, she discovered a newspaper article about Angela and her husband. Sam burned it and went to the Quatermain house, thinking it was the work of Tracy. Sam threatend to take her down, but Tracy claimed she wasn't the one to have sent her the package.

Jason and Sam attempted to have children but she learned that, due to scarring from her gun shot wound, she is not able to carry a child to term.
