Sam Malcolmson

Sam Malcolmson (born 2 April 1948) was a Scottish born New Zealand footballer who played for the All Whites at the 1982 FIFA World Cup.
Malcolmson played for Airdrieonians, Queen of the South and Albion Rovers in Scotland before emigrating to New Zealand in 1974. He was selected for the New Zealand squad for the 1982 World Cup while playing for East Coast Bays and made one appearance in the tournament, against his native Scotland, in a 5-2 defeat. In total Malcomson played for New Zealand 32 times and was the oldest player in the 1982 World Cup squad but still very fit for his age. He was a capable defender who liked to attack and was very strong in the air, he was often used as a striker and scored more than 50 goals in Rothmans League.
