Sam Doble
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sam Doble was a rugby union full back. He was a record points scorer for Moseley in the season 1972-1973. He died of cancer in 1977. Fifteen international rugby union stars played a memorial match against Moseley, played to a packed Reddings.
When Moseley moved to their new ground at nearby Billesley Common in 2005, 28 years later, many suggested that it should be called the Sam Doble Stadium.
