[edit] Your question on the Help desk
Hey Salvo. I don't want you to get the feeling that I'm having a go at you; I'm not. I just feel that wasting too much time worrying about userboxes and the like detracts from what should be our central goal of building an encyclopedia. You may not be aware that there has been some controversy about userboxes on en: lately. You can see a brief mention of it here under "userboxes start controversy".
I want to distinguish between the Babel boxes (strictly language codes only) and the Userboxes (any other facts or interests of a user). For the Babel boxes, I really think it is best that you stick to the en: system here. For the userboxes, well, go nuts. But really, the easiest way to make them is described in detail on Wikipedia:Userboxes. I strongly recommend that you study that page. You will see that {{User queer}} is probably very similar to the first one you have listed on your it: page.
But on the whole, I have to say, en: is not winning any prettiness awards among the 'pedias. de: also has much more tasteful templates than en:. I don't know why English speaking people insist on having such garish templates. :)

[edit] Requesting short translation
I'm working on translating a biography from Italian to English, in order to write a featured article. If possible, can you please translate just this paragraph:
Thanks for your help :) — 0918BRIAN • 2006-03-14 05:11

[edit] Jennylyn Mercado
Salvo46, I caught Kakarugkarug vandalizing yet another page here in Wikipedia. He did it again with Jennylyn Mercado's page. I fixed the problem myself by reverting the page to its older edit. It's about time we come down hard on that user and give him/her the appropriate punishment for senseless vandalism.
[edit] Friedrich Kellner
I hope you can help me, please. I translated the Friedrich Kellner article into Italian using an automatic translator. A few people in Italy helped to correct the first half of the article, but there are still approximately 700 words that need to be double-checked. I have placed the text on my user page at this site: Rskellner. Would have some time to look at that page and help me improve the Italian? I would greatly appreciate it. I notice you are at the University of Toronto. A Toronto producer just made a documentary about the Friedrich Kellner diary. Thank you, Scott (Dr. Robert Scott Kellner, College Station, Texas)--Rskellner 23:07, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
I guess I won't have to trouble you after all. To my pleasant surprise, the translation has now been finished by someone from Italy. Thank you anyways. Scott --Rskellner 17:41, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
