Salzburg Whitsun Festival

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Salzburg Whitsun Festival, (Salzburger Pfingstfestspiele), is an annual festival of opera and baroque music held in Salzburg, Austria during Whitsun (or Pentecost) weekend.

It expands the traditional Salzburg Summer Festival (the Salzburger Festspiele), and it presents productions of operas along with works from the great baroque orchestral repertoire at the Grosses Festspielhaus.

In 2006, it presented Handel's Acis and Galatea and his oratorio Solomon.
