Salvatore Bellomo is a professional wrestler with a colorful career still ongoing after more than three decades.

Although promoters generally billed Bellomo as being from Italy, he was actually born in Honru, Belgium on June 18, 1951. The billing was not entirely inaccurate though as Bellomo was Italian by descent, and in fact spent the latter half of his childhood in Tilleur, Italy after his parents moved back there in 1961. Sal is said to have wrestled his first public match at 16 in Lige, Italy but most data suggests his full-time professional wrestling career started in 1974, or at the very least the mid-70's.

Working in North America under various gimmick names of Italian derivation, Bellomo portrayed a wildman in the ring, thought to be unpredictable and/or brutal by wrestling audiences. The list of titles he has held over the years is almost as colorful and includes everything from the NWA Canadian Tag Team Championship to the WXW Heavyweight Championship.

Bellomo's solid in-ring work eventually landed him a stint in the growing pro-wrestling empire of Vince McMahon. At first his record was actually quite favorable - particularly in Pennsylvania throughout 1983 and 1984, where the then-WWF put him over the likes of Johnny Rodz, Tony Colon and Butcher Vachon on a regular basis. Bellomo also had the honor of wrestling former heavyweight champion Bob Backlund at the Philadelphia Spectrum on August 4, 1984 in what would be Backlund's last match during the 1980s for WWF (he would not return to action for eight years), and he did the job for Backlund on his way out.

From this point on Bellomo was most recognizable as a jobber on WWF programs throughout the 1980s. Being the fall guy was not as ignomious as you might believe, as Bellomo got to work with a veritable who's-who of professional wrestling in some of the biggest venues to hold wrestling around the world. Bellomo even wound up in Eastern Championship Wrestling in 1993, and can by virtue of his appearances claim to be an original member of the Full Blooded Italians.

Although retiring at BWS: Collision Detected (November 25, 2006) Bellomo continues to be active in the business up to the present day, working as a trainer for the Belgian Wrestling School located in Boom, Antwerp (Belgium).
