Salvador José Carmona Álvarez (born 22 August 1975 in Mexico City) is a Mexican football defender who currently, as of May 2006, plays for Club Deportivo Cruz Azul as their team Captain.

He has got 85 caps for the Mexican national team since his debut in 1996, and he participated at the World Cups in 1998 and 2002 as an important piece in the team. Unfortunately, He was involved in a doping controversy and suspended one year with his teammate Aaron Galindo in the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup and both players couldn't play for Mexico in the 2006 World Cup.
