Saltnes is a village in the municipality of Råde, Norway. Its population in 2005 was 1,969, of which 87 people live within the border of the neighboring municipality, Fredrikstad[citation needed].

Saltnes has grown incredibly, from around 50 to almost 2000 inhabitants in only 36 years. Saltnes is becoming increacingly popular to live in and visit in the holidays. Råde municipality thinks that the population raises by about 500-1000 inhabitants in the holidays season because of all the summer houses that are in the location[citation needed].
