Saltburn Railway Station serves the town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea in the borough of Redcar and Cleveland and the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England. It is the terminus (end of the line) of the Tees Valley Line and is operated by Northern Rail who provide all passenger train services. It is unmanned, and has one acrylic glass passenger shelter which is regularly subject to vandalism[citation needed].

[edit] History

Originally the railway continued a short distance beyond the railway station to allow engines to push the first class carriages the final 300 yards to another platform at the rear of the Zetland Hotel where passengers could disembark directly into their accommodation.
