Salobreña
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Salobreña is a town on the Costa Tropical in Andalucía, Spain. It claims a history stretching back 6000 years[citation needed].
The old town of whitewashed houses in steep narrow streets clusters around the 10th century moorish castle on a rocky prominence surrounded by sugar cane fields. New developments spread from the foot of the rock to the coast.
The last remaining sugar factory in Europe is located along the coast just to the west in the village of La Caleta[citation needed].
